    Description

These frames came from an optical company that was started in 1926.  They are a plastic like material and the trim, particularly the hinges, is quite tarnished so I question whether it is sterling silver.  The bridge design carries on into the interior of the frame near the nose area and it has a rather greenish cast.  The frame itself is a light amber color and does not look like today's plastic.  They are quite small about four and three quarters inches across.  They come in a vintage, small snap case with the initials, RPF on it.  The greenish design has an art deco look.  I wish I could date them accurately.  I know for sure that they have been around for a very long time.
