By bidding on a piece the bidder acknowledges that it is an antique item that may have defects, scratches, dings, dents, micro scratches, abrasions, replaced parts, cracks, flaws, imperfections and on occasion missing parts. Vintage watches are typically unserviced and sold as is with no warranties or guarantees concerning reliability, water resistance, working condition, timekeeping accuracy, or other mechanical defects. Pocket watches are sometimes re-cased in new cases different from their original case so this may be a possibility in some auction listings. I do my best to describe these flaws and make the buyer aware of them but occasionally I will miss one. Please closely examine the photos and condition report to assess the condition of any piece I am selling. On occasion the watches I sell may start and stop, working only for brief periods of time as is typical of very old watches that need a full service and overhaul. "Running" or "working" does not imply timekeeping accuracy, simply the fact that the balance wheel and gears turn over in a given watch at the time of my listing. The buyer acknowledges this before bidding. Moreover, sometimes these vintage watch stop working after shipping and if they have not been noted as serviced, they are sold "As Is." They seller assumes no responsibility for watches that stop working after shipment and no refunds will be made for this reason. By bidding on this watch or buying it as a buy it now, the bidder acknowledges and accepts this point. This is a rare occurrence but it does sometimes happen. Simply put, any of my vintage watch auctions are for timepieces sold as non-working for liability purposes even if it in fact they do actually work. The buyer acknowledges this fact before bidding and accepts this disclaimer.
I do not time watches for accuracy and reliability. Most vintage and antique watches will need servicing by a trained watchmaker so please be aware of this before bidding -- I am not a watchmaker and I will clearly state if a given watch has recently been serviced. Typically I do not know the service history of a given watch. Dried oils, dirt, and other effects of age impact the running of antique and vintage watches and will need to be addressed by your watchmaker.
Payment will be through PayPal only and international shipments will only be through the Global Shipping Program. The full value of the piece will be declared on all customs forms. Returns only if the item has been grossly misdescribed unless otherwise noted. I will gladly combine shipping on orders in the US but sometimes combining global shipping can be difficult. I cannot combine most global shipping orders or send an invoice through the global shipping program. I will gladly ship to US addresses for foreign buyers if they can provide verification of the PayPal address in the US. Payment expected within three days unless prior arrangements have been made.
Since I include tracking and insurance in the shipping costs, I will not negotiate lower shipping prices. I offer two flat rates: .95 for USPS Priority Mail and .95 for USPS First Class Mail. We are happy to combine shipping for multiple pieces. These stated terms apply to all of my auctions and eBay sales including items other than watches. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Thank you for your time and good luck bidding or buying!
